Rentavela, based in Barcelona, Spain, is the controller of the personal data processed through rentavela.com. This means we decide why and how that data is used, and we answer for it

What this policy covers
This policy covers the website rentavela.com: its pages, its forms and the updates we send when you ask for them
Once you become a client, the client platform and the purchase of an apartment are covered by a separate privacy notice that you receive together with your invitation. That notice describes the identity and source-of-funds checks that Spanish law requires for a property purchase, and how the documents for your purchase are kept
We never ask for passports, bank statements or other financial documents through this website. Documents for a purchase are uploaded only inside your own account on the client platform

How long we keep it
We keep data only as long as its purpose requires. When a period ends, we delete the data or reduce it to statistics that no longer identify anyone
If a contract with you or the law requires a longer period, for example for accounting records, the longer period applies to that data only

Where your data is stored
The website and the data collected through it are hosted in the European Union
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, for example the font delivery service. Such transfers rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on the standard contractual clauses the Commission has adopted. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards that apply
How we protect it

- Only team members who need your data to answer you can see it
- Our providers are chosen for their security standards and bound by contract
- Data is backed up regularly, and the restoration of backups is tested
- If a breach puts your rights at risk, we notify the Spanish Data Protection Agency and, where required, you, within the periods the GDPR sets
We never send payment details by email or messenger. If a message asks you to pay or to share documents outside your platform account, do not reply and write to hello@rentavela.com
Your rights
You can exercise each of these rights free of charge. Select one to prepare a request in the form at the end of this page
We reply within one month. For a complex request this period can be extended by two more months, and we tell you within the first month if we need the extra time. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we answer, so that your data goes only to you
If you think we have not respected your rights, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency, Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, at www.aepd.es, or to the data protection authority of the EU country where you live or work
Children
This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the website or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change affects data you have already given us, we tell you by email before the change applies
